rozina suliman

Rozina is a media and installation artist. Since graduating from the Queensland College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2005, Rozina has exhibited in several exhibitions and festivals throughout Brisbane.

Through digital video, installation and photography, Rozina explores the relationship between humans and the natural world and how we have impacted these environments. Her interactive spaces provoke thought and prompt viewers to explore and re-asses their relationship with these environments.

Rozina recently travelled throughout Ecuador and Peru, visiting different wilderness areas in order to inform her work and collect information for future projects. She has been involved in several collaborative projects and is working towards a practice that thoroughly integrates
scientific ideas into artistic practice. Ultimately, Rozina hopes this synthesis will provide a heightened awareness of environmental issues by way of disseminating scientific information through art.

Rozina is currently co-ordinating the 2009 exhibition for the Environmental Art Collective ART|PLAY|SCIENCE 2009. This exhibition explores the idea of learning through play and how playful art can help us communicate scientific ideas. Rozina is also the Art Curator for new Brisbane venue, Top Floor that incorporates the visual arts, theatre and music.Rozina currently lives and works in Brisbane.
